Some interesting slow-worm facts. For one of the more interesting animals to live in our gardens I don't think people know a huge amount about them so here's a few facts to "wow" your friends and family with. Slow worms mate for up to ten hours at a time. Females incubate their young within egg sacs inside their bodies and 'give birth' to live young towards the end of the summer. Autumn is spent feeding in readiness for hibernation, which runs from November to March. It takes up to eight years for slow worms to reach their full-grown size.

Intestinal worms include: Pinworms(enterobiasis): These thread-like worms spread when you touch a surface contaminated with pinworm eggs and put your hands to your mouth. The eggs hatch in your small intestine. At night, female adults lay eggs around your anus (butthole). The process can cause anal itching.
